Easter Bunny issues press release from Easter Island regarding the coronavirus

*The Easter Bunny made it official today that he will be making his Easter deliveries this year, using no-contact delivery.*

(April 6, 2020/Easter Island) Here is what the Easter Bunny had to say:

I know people are worried about me during the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak and I appreciate the concern.

I wanted you to know that I am taking all precautions necessary to protect my community, myself, and others. Some of the things I am doing include:

  • Limiting close contact with others as much as possible (about 6 feet).
  • Keeping away from others who are sick.
  • Washing my hands regularly.
  • And more…

Because I’m a magical creature, I have natural protection against the coronavirus. I can’t catch it and therefore I can’t transmit it. But, I wanted you to know I’m still practicing safety measures to ensure we are all safe.

I wanted to assure you that I plan to make all my Easter deliveries this Easter, despite the coronavirus. To be extra safe, I am doing no-contact delivery and will be leaving your Easter goodies outside. It’s pretty much what I do every year, but this year it’s very important I practice contact-free delivery, even more so.

Have a Happy and Safe Easter!

Love,
The Easter Bunny

Why the Easter Bunny Loves to Deliver Eggs

The basket of eggs before him, once full of sugary surprises, was finally empty. Each egg came with its own carefully painted pattern, whether it be wavy, squiggly, or spotted. And the Easter Bunny was more than happy to paint and deliver each one. After all, it was his favorite thing to do!

Some might wonder why the Easter Bunny liked to decorate and deliver dozens and dozens of Easter eggs every holiday. To some, it might seem silly. But not to the Easter Bunny. He’d spend all year coloring batches and batches of his signature gifts, and made sure to put them all neatly in a nicely decorated basket.

When he’d finally arrive at someone’s home come Easter Eve, the Easter Bunny would take a minute to see where he’d hide his delicious treats that year. Maybe he’d put some in the yard behind a couple of bushes. Perhaps he’d hide them under the sofa, or inside one of the cabinets. He liked to change things up every year, it made the egg hunt all the more fun!

After he’d hidden all of the eggs, he’d pack up his things, and get ready to move on to the next home. But, before he’d leave, he’d take one last look at the family he visited, and smile. He knew how happy they’d be the next morning. It brought him great joy. That is why the Easter Bunny loves to deliver his eggs.

Lily and the Easter Egg Trail

The season of flowers, honey bees, and sunshine had begun! On this bright and early Easter morning, Lily Tuckett was getting ready for a fun day filled with extravagant egg hunts, flamboyant feasts made by her Grandmother, and hopefully, a visit by the one and only Easter Bunny!

Little Lily put on her brightest shoes, tying them tight. She waltzed into the back yard where her family was setting up a bounty of springtime decorations for their event this afternoon. It was going to be a very big deal! All of her neighbors were going to come and join the celebration, as well as all of her aunts and uncles, little and big cousins, her grandparents, and some of her friends. She could not be any more excited.

But Lily had her own tasks to do, as Mama had told her to help her with the festivities if she wanted to play and do the Easter egg hunt. So, of course, Lily instantly jumped to chance to help. Mama had said to her that she needed to gather some flowers for some vases she wanted placed on the tables, and to clean up all of the dog’s toys so no one would slip on them. Lastly, Lily needed to fetch the carrots from the fridge for a pre-lunch snack.

Off Lily went to find some flowers in the yard, eager to collect pearly whites, pompous purples, and bright and sunny yellows. The sun was out, shining down on the Tuckett household, prepping for the great day ahead. The grassy mounds turned to flowery fields, and Lily stopped to admire the beauty. Pausing her journey, Lily became very distracted by a pretty pink butterfly. It fluttered its rosy wings and drew Lily closer and closer into the woods. Lily was so in awe of the bug, that she did not even know she was further straying away from the party, and from her backyard.

Soon enough, Lily and the butterfly were deep into the forest, and within the blink of an eye, the butterfly flew off high into the sky. Little Lily waved goodbye to the interesting insect, before realizing she was in the forest. Oh dear, Lily was very lost. The young girl had never been in the forest before. She had no idea where to go.

She tried to retrace her steps, but forgot where she had even come from. It was so hopeless, very hopeless indeed, and Lily became quite sad. The little girl sat down on a log and pouted at her confusing situation. Everything was going wrong, and today was Easter of all days.

Suddenly, a funny little dingling sound came from behind a big and colorful mushroom. Lily perked her ears to find the noise, and when she did, decided to investigate. As she peeked from behind a little bush, Lily was delighted to find a rainbow-colored Easter egg. Inside the small egg was a candy, a bright red lollipop. Very sweet!

Lily was surprised to find more and more eggs following the rainbow-colored egg. They were each a different color, an emerald green, a cloudy white, a sunny orange, a baby blue, a shining red, and a bright yellow. Even prettier were the swirly, curly designs painted on the eggs, or the friendly smiley faces drawn on them as well. The dingling sound repeated again, this time, farther outside of the forest. Lily decided to follow the trail of Easter eggs to see where it led. The eggs must lead her somewhere important, after all!

Just moments later, Lily emerged from the forest with a basket full of painted eggs and pretty flowers, all smiles, and happy to embark on such an interesting journey. Mama was nearby, worried sick of course, yelling for her Little Lily. She was very upset that Lily was lost. Thankfully, Lily was just peachy, and ran to her mother to reassure her she was safe. Mama smiled in relief to see that Lily was okay, and gave her the biggest hug in all the world. Mama and Lily were happy to see each other again.

Lily apologized for not finishing her tasks, remarking about the pink butterfly and the Easter eggs she had found. But Mama wasn’t upset, no, she was just happy that Lily was okay. With a bounty of pride, Lily proudly showed Mama the flowers that she had gathered, and the eggs that they could now use for their decorations. The two awed at the marvelous designs that were present on the eggs.

As Lily and Mama prepared for dinner, Little Lily turned her attention towards the forest for one last glance. It was strange, but she could have sworn she saw a bunny waving to her, holding an egg in their paw, as if they were the one to leave behind the trail of Easter eggs in the woods.

Happy Easter!
